TOMMY LEE's Criminal Record Stirs Campus Controversy

The resolution mentioned Lee's lengthy criminal record. It also calls for the school chancellor to consult with the university community and its reps before agreeing to do big media projects.

"There are far better ways we could present ourselves than to put us in a scenario with an aging rock and roller," Gerry Harbison insisted.

The university signed on to the project for the national exposure, and spokesman Dave Fitzgibbon says the controversy is much ado about nothing. "Certainly Tommy Lee's past behavior is not a model for our students, but I think the message that he's seeking redemption through higher education is something the university is about." Read more.
